Centre City Summer Jam features free performances by local bands from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Aug. 19 in downtown Butler. Two area bands will perform each night and include The Way Back Home Band, Moonshine, Moon Drag and Full Circle. In addition to live music and other activities, there also will be a downtown marketplace with food, beverages and merchandise along with raffles and prizes. The Centre City Summer Jam events are free. Rain site is the Quarry Street parking lot under the General Butler Bridge. Visit www.ButlerDowntown.org.

Concerts to Munch By, hosted by the Butler County Symphony Association, will feature NKC Trio, a flute, violin and cello group, from 12:15 until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the symphony office building, 259 S. Main St. The series continues Wednesdays through Aug. 17. Each week a musician or group of musicians perform a free half-hour concert. Audience members may take a lunch or purchase one on site courtesy of Café Main. Cookies and cold beverages are free. Admission is free. Call 724-283-1402.

The free family summer concert series at Alameda Park, hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, offer music at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Carousel Shelter. Performing Tuesday will be Moses and the Trash Bandits, a three-piece group that plays neoclassic rock and blues. Call 724-284-5383.

Musicians' Concert Band is performing at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium this summer. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. July 21 and Aug. 4. Admission is $3. For information, send e-mail to musiciansconcertband@gmail.com.

Watermelon Wednesdays are taking place during July at Slippery Rock Park. Concert admission and watermelon are free. Shows will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Performing Wednesday will be Joey Cirillo and Friends, acoustic rock. Call 724-794-8180.

Thursdays in the Park concerts will take place in the Rotary Amphitheater in Cranberry Township Community Park. All shows will begin at 7 p.m. Playing tonight will be the East Winds Symphonic Band. Mahajibee Blues will perform on July 21. Admission is free. Call 724-776-4806 for more information.

Harmony Business Association's 16th annual Thursday evening concert series continues with Eugene & the Nightcrawlers playing at 7:30 p.m. July 21 in front of the Harmony Inn on Mercer Street. Concert-goers should take their own chairs. Admission is free. Call 724-452-6220.
