Garnet J. Wilcox

Garnet J. Wilcox, 87, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Mars, died Dec. 20 at the Stonebridge Health Center in Austin.

Born in New Lexington, Ohio, on June 19, 1918, she was the daughter of Clyde and Pearl Reddick Heckert.

Mrs. Wilcox was a member of the Mars United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Mary and Martha Circle.

She is survived by a stepson, William Wilcox Jr. of Barneveld, N.Y.; a niece, Jan McCann of Austin; and four step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wilcox, who died in 1986; her sister, Twyla Rittman, with whom she had made her home in Mars; and a stepdaughter, Ellen Cook of Houston, Texas.

WILCOX — Friends of Garnet J. Wilcox, who died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, are invited to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME,238 Crowe Ave., Mars. The Rev. Austin Hornyak, pastor of the Mars United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.Memorial contributions may be made to the Mars United Methodist Church.
