BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College women's volleyball team improved to 4-0 Saturday with wins over Potomac State and CCBC Essex.

The Pioneers defeated Potomac State 3-1, winning by 27-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-18. Sarah Beals had 14 kills, Ashley Campbell 11 kills, Kelly Davis 15 assists and Danielle Lloyd 12 digs.

The Pioneers downed Essex 25-13, 25-20, as Beals had 13 assists, Caitlyn Cress six digs and Chelsea Pallone four kills.

BC3 hosts CCAC Boyce at 6 p.m. today.

BUFFALO TWP — Chris Schneider withstood a pair of late caution flags to take first place in the 30-lap Sportsman Stock Spectacular at Lernerville Speedway Saturday night.Saxonburg's Wayne Carbo won the first B-Main as well as the Dash for Cash.Tyler Hill won the Enduro, a 100-lap event.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New England wide receiver Randy Moss became the fourth player in NFL history to reach 150 career touchdowns with a jaw-dropping, one-handed 34-yard catch in the Patriots' 28-14 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.After a 46-yard completion to Aaron Hernandez on third-and-10, Tom Brady found Moss, who reached up and snagged the pass over his shoulder with his right hand for a touchdown with 53 seconds left in the half. His left hand never touched the ball.Moss trails only Jerry Rice (208), Emmitt Smith (175) and LaDainian Tomlinson (153) on the career list.

CHICAGO — Detroit's Jim Leyland became the 18th manager to work 3,000 major league games when the Tigers wrapped up their weekend series against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.Leyland entered with a 1,486-1,511 record over 19 years with Pittsburgh, Florida, Colorado and Detroit. He led the Marlins to their first World Series title in 1997.Eleven of the first 17 managers to reach the mark are in the Hall of Fame.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami quarterback Jacory Harris said he received at least one racially motivated hate message following the Hurricanes' loss to Ohio State last weekend.Harris said Sunday he received at least one comment on Twitter from someone saying the Hurricanes should not have "a black quarterback," making the revelation five days after the school told its football players to discontinue using the social messaging site.
