A Butler man is facing charges following an alleged altercation at the Super 8 hotel on Route 8 in Butler Township.

Ronald A. Kapsin Jr., 44, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation and harassment following a Nov. 26 incident.

Police said Kapsin grabbed a 44-year-old woman by the neck and forced her head into a wall at the hotel, causing minor injuries.

After he was taken to the police station for processing, officers tried to remove Kapsin from a holding cell when he became violent and struck an officer in the face, police said. The officer wasn’t injured.

Kapsin was placed in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
