Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
11:11 a.m. Nov. 13 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash involving Kelia Ellenberger, 61, of Kittanning, and Alan Sharkey, 59, of Butler, neither of whom were injured. Police said Sharkey’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and Ellenberger was cited for improper left turn.
Nov. 14 — Jerrin D. Brandon, 34, of Fombell, was charged with felony counts of burglary and trespass, as well as misdemeanor counts of theft and possessing stolen property related to an Oct. 22 report made by a resident on Laurel Drive. Police said that without permission, Brandon entered her home multiple times and appeared to steal her mail, documents or papers.
Nov. 8 — Ryan M. Mills, 42, of Rochester, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor counts of false identification and possessing drugs related to a July 28 report of drug activity on Freedom Road. Police said Mills told them his name was Justin Smith. Police said they also saw two stamp bags of suspected heroin and another substance they suspected was crack cocaine.
Nov. 8 — Vitoria M. Pestano, 23, of Coraopolis, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a traffic stop on Route 19. Police said field sobriety tests showed Pestano was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.170%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
Nov. 7 — Police filed charges in three cases against two men. In each of the three cases, Ryan Z. Wilson, 34, of Scranton, was charged with felony counts of retail theft and conspiracy and misdemeanor possession of stolen property; while Ryan N. Banner, 38, of Cabot, was charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft, conspiracy and possessing stolen property. Police said that on July 25, Wilson and Banner stole $660 worth of paint from Home Depot. Police said that on Aug. 16, the pair stole $485 worth of groceries and electronics, including a 65-inch TV from Walmart. Police said that on Aug. 19, Wilson and Banner stole $635 worth of items from Home Depot, including a water softening system, wood stain and roofing nails.
Nov. 7 — Police charged two men with misdemeanor retail theft related to a 7:40 p.m. report made by Walmart employees. Ryan A. Clayton, 28, of Bronx, N.Y., and Timanie D. Taylor, 19, of Saint Albans, N.Y., were charged with misdemeanor retail theft. Police said the pair tried to steal $298 worth of items.
Nov. 6 — Elijah J. Smith, 20, of Coroapolis, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to a Sept. 10 incident at Target. Police said Smith connected a walkie-talkie to Target’s communication system and sent employees into a frenzy with a false alert of someone suffering a seizure in the parking lot. Police said employees eventually confronted Smith over the false information, and he fled the scene.
Nov. 6 — Nicole J. Durham, 41, of Carmichaels, was charged with misdemeanor counts of bad checks related to an Oct. 1 investigation. Police said Durham, operating as Steel City Poured Walls, wrote four bad checks to Carroll Construction Supply with a total amount of $4,471.91, including bank charges.
Nov. 5 — Amanda B. Gniewkowski, 36, of Cranberry Township, was charged with one misdemeanor count of fleeing a vehicle crash scene related to an Oct. 29 two-vehicle crash on Ehrman Road. Police said Gniewkowski crossed the center line at a high rate of speed and hit another vehicle head-on. Police said Gniewkowski managed to flee in her vehicle, and later she tried to report a hit-and-run as if she were the victim. Police said the evidence did not support Gniewkowski’s claim.
Nov. 12 — Garrett Beebe, 21, of Houston, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and possessing stolen property related to a Nov. 11 investigation into stolen AirPods. Police said the device’s owner had tracked the stolen AirPods to a weight room, and used her phone to force them to sound off. Police said the sound came from Beebe’s bag as he exited the locker room.
Nov. 6 — Christopher T. Sinclair, 24, of Moon Township, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 31 traffic stop on South Main Street. Police said field sobriety tests showed Sinclair was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.155%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
Nov. 6 — Terrance B. Norris, 23, of Toronto, Ohio, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 17 traffic stop on South Main Street. Police said field sobriety tests showed Norris was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.144%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
