Marilyn Herold

Marilyn Herold, 76, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior and her beloved husband on Tuesday after a year long battle with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and most recently leukemia.

Born on July 11, 1942, in Butler, she was the daughter of Velma Kiser Blain and the late Arthur Blain.

She was a homemaker, who raised her children on the family farm.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to the lake and the beach. Her most precious memories were spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Butler.

She is survived by her mother; her children, Jodi and Ken Stockert of Cabot, Jennifer and Dusten Clark of West Sunbury, and David and Kerri Herold of Butler; and six grandchildren, Eddie, Rachel and Rebecca Stockert, Kyle and Madisyn Clark and Carter Herold.

She is also survived by her brothers, Dale (JoAnn) Blain and Larry (Julie) Blain, of Butler; and her in-laws, John “Jack” Herold of Alabama, Gladie O'day of Mars, Patricia (David) Paraska, Dale (Dianna) Herold and Judy (Raymond) Heichel, all of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Herold; and her father-in-law and her mother-in-law, John and Ina Mae Herold.

HEROLD — Friends of Marilyn Herold, who died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, with Pastor Chance Kelosky officiating.Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MDS Foundation, 4573 South Broad St., Ste. 150, Yardville, NJ 08620, or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, PO Box 98018, Washington, D.C. 20090-8018.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
