Joseph P. Brusina

Joseph P. Brusina, 78, of Chicora died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday in the Community of Living at the VA Hospital in Butler.

He was born in Carnegie, Pittsburgh, March 18, 1937, the son of the late Joseph Brusina and Emma Allshouse Brusina.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, the Coast Guard, Navy Reserve and the Army National Guard. He was a diesel mechanic and a locksmith, and worked for Keystone Detroit Diesel in Cranberry Township until his retirement.

He married Ruby E. Barnhart Brusina on Oct. 8, 1977. She passed away June 2, 2002.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Bayne; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Diana Maxwell of Lyndora and Debbie Murray and her husband, Marty, of Fenelton; three stepsons, David Barnhart and his wife, Rita, of Girard, Donald Barnhart and his wife, Elaine, of Girard and Dennis Barnhart and his wife, Debbie, of Butler; and two brothers, Roan Brusina of West Virginia and Wayne Brusina of Florida.

BRUSINA — There will be no visitation or viewing for Joseph P. Brusina, who died Thursday, March 26, 2015.Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's Reformed Cemetery, 334 W. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Chicora, officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legions and the Chicora VFW.Arrangements handled by the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E.
