Annette Pirrone

Annette Joan Hill Pirrone, 80, of New Kensington passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital.

She was born Aug. 14, 1940, in the Slate Lick section of Freeport, and was the daughter of the late Raymond Leroy Hill and Virginia Irene (VanDyke) Hill-VanDyke.

Annette went to Freeport High School.

She attended Harvest Baptist Church in Natrona Heights.

In addition to the joy of raising her brood of children, she also worked at Taco Bell, Carson Industries and retired from Giant Eagle.

The biggest thing she looked forward to were her yearly trips to the beach, and spring, summer and fall, to be able to sit on her porch and watch and visit with all of her wonderful neighbors.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Jo Keener of Saxonburg, Brigitte (John) Kowalski of Reading, and her Nu-Ken daughter, Brenda (J.R.) Wall; and four sons, Theodore “Ted” (LuAnn) Keener and John (Robin) Keener, both of Sarver, Allen (Janice) Keener of Kittanning, and Timothy “Tim” (Michelle) Keener of Freeport.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Melissa (Ryan) Janoski, Janae (Dave) Goodwin, Heather (Jonathan) Grimm, Alex Keener, Brad Keener, Talia Kowalski and Jade Kowalski; her four stepgrandchildren, Cassie Woods, Luke (Ashlie) Woods, Heather Panei and Joey Panei; her six great-grandchildren, Lilyann, Dakota, Samuel, Isaiah, Hannah and one on the way; her three stepgreat-grandchildren, Isaac, Olivia and Lucie; HER VERY SPECIAL “NetNet” crew, Jaden and Dawson Wall; her sister, Sally Smith; a brother, Sidney “Sid” (Kathy) Hill of Freeport; and four sisters-in-law, Paula Hill, Joanne (Raymond) Mohr, Dianna Bosak and Pamela (Stephen) Kachur.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore “Sam” Pirrone, who passed away Oct. 1, 1993; a grandson, Aaron Robert Keener; a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Jackson) Keener; a stepgranddaughter, Missy Panei; her stepfather, Glenn VanDyke; her brother, Paul Hill; and her brothers-in-law, James Smith and Michael Bosak.

A special thanks to all who took care of Mom during her time in St. Margaret Hospital.

PIRRONE — Family and friends of Annette Joan Hill Pirrone, who died Sunday, April 11, 2021, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.

Per the family’s request, funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 224 Harvest Lane, Natrona Heights, PA 15065.
