Irene Frances Wagoner

Irene Frances Wagoner, 89, of Butler passed away Thursday at Chicora Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Worth Township, Butler County, the daughter of the late William Sherman and Hazel May Druschel Sherman.

Irene was a member of Unionville Evangelical Presbyterian Church for more than 68 years. She taught Sunday School and was a former trustee at the church.

She was a nurse's aide at Butler Memorial Hospital and Grove Manor in Grove City.

She was a 1945 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.

Irene was a member of Queen Elizabeth Rebakah Lodge; Unionville VFD Ladies Auxiliary, serving as president and chaplain, Unionville Grange, and a former Cub Scout leader.

She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Peter (Diana) Dickey of Butler; her son, Donald E. (Belinda) Wagoner of Butler; four grandchildren, Angel (John) Jones, Chad (Kim) Dickey, Rose Dickey and Robert (Belinda) Wagoner; and 11 great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Jaylene, Elaine, Sky, Destiny, Weston, Lakotta, Laszlo, Angelina, Michael and Catherine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Wagoner; her sister, and four brothers.

Wagoner— Friends of Irene Frances Wagoner, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Unionville Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler, with her pastor, the Rev. Matthew Kail, officiating.
