Moniteau senior Maura Kimmel broke a pair of school records Saturday at the Knoch Relays.

Kimmel threw 42 feet, 4½ inches in the shot put and 142-7 in the discus to help the Warriors win both events.

The previous school record in the shot put was 41-4 set by Jayne Beatty in 1980.

Kimmel reset her own discus record, which was 139-6.

The Butler girls won the Knoch Relays with a slew of first-place finishes.

The Swedish relay team of Maddie Glew, Emily Horstman, Shana Hoy and Alexis Leech captured first place.

The quartet was a part of three winning relay teams.

The Swedish relay is a race in which the first leg is 100 meters, the second leg 200 meters, the third 300 meters and the fourth 400 meters.

The 400-meter relay team of Savannah Miller, Kelly Kabay, Cienna Tonini and Liz Simms also placed first with a time of 52.39 seconds.

Butler won 10 of the 17 events.

Jena Reinheimer had a personal best throw in the discus of 115-10 and Taylor Weaver had a career-high vault of 10 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault to highlight the Golden Tornado's day.

Seneca Valley won the boys meet. Butler was second.

Central Valley Invitational — Fred Urbaniak won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.04 for Slippery Rock.

Hunter Prementine was fourth and Seth Beels sixth in the triple jump.

On the girls side, Brady Dalton was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.29 and Brooke Shaefers was fourth in the 800.

Jenna Heitzenrater was sixth in the long jump, Camilia Valencia sixth in the pole vault and Kayla Latoza sixth in the triple jump for the Rockets.

Softball

Jessi Reed picked up two wins in the circle and drove in seven runs in four games as Knoch captured the Uncle Pete Noll Tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio, over the weekend.

Celia Knappenberger also picked up a pair of wins in the circle, including a 1-0 victory in the opening game.

Knappenberger drove in Avery Keller with the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh in that game.

Knoch followed with a pair of routs — 11-0 over Newport Central Catholic and 16-1 over Mason County — before winning the title with a 9-4 victory over Notre Dame Academy.

The Knights (5-0) committed just two errors in the four games.
