Interstate 79 south reopened following tractor-trailer fire
A fire in a tractor-trailer on Interstate 79, Worth Township, resulted in the closure of southbound lanes for several hours Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to dispatchers.
Butler County 911 Center reported at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, that the lanes have reopened since the blaze was reported at 11:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2.
Crews responded to the area near mile marker 101 for the reported fire and were on scene for a total of four and a half hours, documents showed.
Portersville-Muddy Creek Township and Prospect volunteer fire departments, Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team and their ambulance responded to the scene.
