SRU rolls in lacrosse

The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team received goals from 11 players in a 22-2 rout over Erskine College Saturday.

Casey Quinn scored four goals for The Rock (2-0). Amy Halls, Katie Roof, Samantha Eddy, Alexis Slutsky and Ariel Knox each had a multi-goal game for SRU, which is off to its best start since 1989.

Track and FieldAmanda Seigworth and Allison Smith each posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in their respective events to lead the Slippery Rock University women's track and field team in the outdoor opener at Coastal Carolina University Saturday.Smith won the 400-meter hurdles will a time of 1 minutes, 2.27 seconds.Seigworth was third in the event with a time of 1:03.85.She placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.54 seconds.On the men's side, Chris Warning and Dylan Klein had second-place finishes for The Rock.Warning recorded a throw in the discus of 48.75 meters. Klein ran the 5,000-meter run in 15 minutes, 18.22 seconds.
