Slippery Rock Twp. supervisor announces candidacy for state House

SLIPPERY ROCK — A township supervisor has announced he will be a Republican candidate for the state House of Representatives 10th District seat.

John Hines, a township supervisor for the past 17 years, will run in the April 24 primary election for his party’s nomination. If he gets the nomination, he would face incumbent Democrat Rep. Jaret Gibbons, who was elected in 2006.

The 10th District covers Slippery Rock borough and township in Butler County, as well as parts of Beaver and Lawrence counties.
