No panel was needed
I am wondering why there was a committee appointed to select a new county solicitor.
That was uncalled-for; that is why we elect county commissioners — to make decisions about employees.
That was strictly the commissioners’ job to do all involved with making the appointment. There should have been no committee.
If others are making such decisions, we don’t need commissioners.
Why didn’t the Butler Eagle question this? In my opinion, the appointment of the panel was just a sham to make it appear that there was no partiality in naming the person who the two Republican commissioners wanted from the start.
