1 dead as 85 vehicles involved in pileups in Ohio
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Authorities say one person has died after a highway pileup involving as many as 85 vehicles in southwest Ohio.
The crash on Interstate 275 was one of three separate pileups that snared dozens of vehicles Monday in Ohio.
One woman died the I-275 pileup outside Cincinnati. Authorities say at least 20 have been injured.
A State Highway Patrol dispatcher says as many as 50 vehicles could be involved in a pileup on I-75, between the cities of Middletown and Monroe. The dispatcher says minor injuries have been reported.
Lanes of I-270 near Columbus have been reopened following a pileup there.
Parts of Ohio saw scattered snow showers, with isolated pockets of heavier snowfall. Forecasters had said that could reduce visibility and produce a quick coating of snow.
