Viet war tie irrelevant
As a Vietnam war veteran, I take exception to the articles about Jimmy Lee Dykes, who killed a school bus driver while taking a 5-year-old boy hostage in Alabama.
Why is it so important to remind readers that Dykes is a Vietnam-era veteran? Why is it so important to label him in that way?
Vietnam vets have gotten a bad rap since we came home from the war. People shouldn’t forget how Vietnam vets had things thrown at them and how they were called “baby killers” when they arrived at their American airports.
Enough is enough. I say, “Let it go, America.”
