Fire today destroys golf course garage
SUMMIT TWP — A fire earlier this afternoon destroyed a wooden garage at the Serene Valley Golf Course off Bonniebrook Road.
According to authorities, the roughly 40-by-28-foot structure contained lawn equipment for the golf course.
Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to the home of the golf course owner, Ron Rome.
Several volunteer fire departments responded to the 12:52 p.m. 911 call.
The Herman Volunteer Fire Company was assisted by the Saxonburg, Chicora, Oneida Valley and Lick Hill volunteer fire departments.
Authorities are investigating the cause.
