Firefighters saved dog
On Feb. 5, I was walking my dog when I heard a dog’s pitiful cries.
We followed the sound and found that a neighbor’s dog had fallen through the ice on a pond. The ice was too slippery for the dog to climb out, but also too thin to walk on. And the water is deep.
Another neighbor had already called 911. The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department and ambulance responded promptly and quickly rescued the dog.
Thanks are in order to the volunteer firefighters for risking their own safety to save the dog’s life.
