City man unharmed in shooting incident
WILMINGTON TWP, Mercer County — A Butler man was unharmed Friday evening when another man fired gunshots in his direction.
According to state police, Daniel J. Reich, 42, of Butler was milling lumber on a property on Brenneman Road about 6:10 p.m. when Paul F. Baer, 61, of Volant allegedly fired two rounds from a .22-caliber, semi-automatic pistol near Reich’s vehicle.
When Reich attempted to confront Baer, Baer fired shots at Reich. Then when Reich asked Baer to empty the pistol so they could discuss the problem, Baer fired the gun’s final three rounds into the ground and walked away, according to police.
Baer was arrested without incident and was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment.
