Bicyclist hurt when hit by car



SOUTH BUFFALO TWP, Armstrong County — A Fenelton man was seriously injured this morning when a vehicle struck his bicycle from behind on Freeport Road.
State police report Brian Edward Weiland, 46, was pedaling near the edge of the southbound lane when he was struck at 6:30 a.m. by the passenger side mirror of a white sedan that subsequently fled the scene.
Weiland was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for treatment of a severe neck laceration. His condition was unavailable.
Police are looking for the vehicle, which will have a missing passenger side mirror. There may be other damage to the front passenger side.
Anyone with information about the incident, which occurred just south of Iron Bridge Road, should call police at 724-543-2011.
