Suspect in state trooper shooting is dead
BROCKWAY, Pa. — Police say a northwestern Pennsylvania man who allegedly critically wounded a state trooper appears to have killed himself after a standoff.
At a news conference today, state police identified the dead man as Kenneth Lees Sr. They say his adult son, Kenneth Jr., is under arrest.
Police say they were seeking to serve a warrant early Thursday afternoon in Brockway, Jefferson County. They now believe Lees Sr. shot Trooper Brad Wilson through a window and then killed himself, but the investigation is ongoing. Brockway is northeast of Butler.
Deputy State Police Commissioner Lt. Col. George Bivens says Wilson was hit twice, and other officers were able to get him away from the scene.
Wilson is in critical condition at UPMC Altoona.
