City firefighters put out basement fire



Butler City firefighters were called to 201 Carbon St., off East Jefferson Street, at 3:20 p.m. for a fire.
Firefighters extinguished the fire that started in the basement, and contained it to that room.
A family who resided there apparently all got out without injury and were to be assisted by the Butler branch of the American Red Cross.
