William James Malone

William Malone

William James Malone, 65, of Harmony passed away suddenly as a result of respiratory complications Sunday at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born on Dec. 5, 1948, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of the late William J. Malone Sr. and Regina (Dorman) Malone.

Bill was a 1966 graduate of Riverside High School.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served our country during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Silver Star for bravery and two Purple Hearts.

Bill was an active member of the American Legion Post 474, the Legion Riders of Pennsylvania and the Evans City VFW. A machinist by trade, he was employed by the Wooding's Industrial Corp. in Mars.

Above all, Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, son and loyal friend who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 41 years, Sandy (Butia) Malone of Harmony; his daughter, Kristin Glies and her husband, Dustyn, of Ellwood City; his sister, Mary Catherine Malone of Fort Myers, Fla.; his life-long friend, Jim Klages, who he loved like a brother, and his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Francis Malone.

Malone — The Malone family will welcome friends of William James Malone, who passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Avenue, Zelienople.A funeral ceremony with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
