Louis Peter 'Dusty' Nagy

Louis (Dusty) Nagy

Louis Peter “Dusty” Nagy, 70, of Seattle, Wash., died at 7 p.m. Feb. 25.

Louis turned 70 a few days earlier on Feb. 6, surrounded by his daughter, Alyson of Seattle, and his sister's family from Los Angeles.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1944. After graduating from Butler High School at age 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he spent the next five and a half years.

He attended San Diego City College, resolutely determined to achieve more than was expected of him. His dreams were fulfilled. Dusty got accepted at UCLA, was often on the dean's list, received the Charles Scott Fellowship for a master's degree in public administration and attended law school at the University of San Diego.

He spent his career in banking, achieving honors time and time again.

Dusty kept family close to his heart and visited Butler often to connect with relatives over the years. High school reunions saw him dancing most every dance, often with his sister, Virginia Smith-Rader (Jinx) of Los Angeles. His joie de vivre was infectious; Dusty was upbeat and easy to love.

He is survived by his sister, Virginia of Los Angeles; his daughter, Alyson, an attorney in Seattle; his granddaughter; his niece, Melissa; his nephew, Mathew; his much loved uncle, Edward Zabicki; his cousins, Philip Loverick and his family, Barbara Ross, Joyce Morando, Mark and Larry Iarripino, Michele Bitter, Darla Ausel and Sari McClure; and so many more who loved him.

May his smile, generosity and kindness wash over his family and friends who attempt to fill the emptiness left by the death of this wonderful man, Louis Peter Nagy.

Nagy — Arrangements for Louis Peter Nagy, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, were entrusted to Cascade Memorial in Bellevue, Wash.Services will be on March, 29, 2014, in Seattle.
