KC track cruises to wins

Karns City’s Logan Moroney won the boys’ 100 and 200-yard dashes and was a member of the winning 400 relay team as the Gremlins defeated Moniteau (82-68) and Clarion (116-34) in high school track and field action Wednesday afternoon.

Moniteau’s Stephen Hagg defeated Karns City and Clarion’s competitors in the 110 hurdles, javelin and pole vault as the Warriors claimed a 103-46 win over the Bobcats.

KC also won both girls meets, 110-40 over Clarion and 101-49 over Moniteau.

Cheyenne Troutman won the high jump and long jump for the Gremlins.

Maura Kimmel won the discus to help Moniteau beat Clarion 86-55.

Blake Thompson tallied three goals to lead Mars to a 10-1 victory over host Vincentian Academy.

Zac Sicher, Kyle Thomas and Tyler Brown each netted two goals and Hunter Mincer scored once.

Pat Morrow made four saves in the win.
