WASHINGTON — Butler graduate Mick Fennell, a sophomore third baseman, played key roles in California (Pa.) University's 12-5 win over Clarion in the second game of a baseball twinbill Saturday.

Fennell had two hits, walked twice, had three RBI and scored two runs from the leadoff spot in the batting order.

He improved to 4-2 as a pitcher by getting the win in relief, working the final 1.2 innings and striking out one.

Seneca Valley graduate Blake Henderson had a pinch-hit two-run double during the Vulcans' 10-run sixth inning.

California is 24-17 overall, 12-12 in PSAC West play, currently one game out of a playoff spot.

WASHINGTON — Union graduate Kane McCall pitched six innings, allowing eight hits, and getting the win in Clarion's 6-4 win over California in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.McCall improved to 4-3 on the season. He has half of the Golden Eagles' wins this spring. Clarion is 8-24 overall, 5-17 in league play.

ERIE — Seneca Valley graduates Nathan Steele and Joey Price tallied six kills and six digs, respectively, in Penn State Behrend’s 3-0 ECAC South semifinal boys volleyball loss to Wentworth.The Saturday defeat left the Lions at 15-10 this season. Scores of the match were 25-21, 25-18 and 25-15.
