Inez L. Hemphill

Inez L. Hemphill, 90, of Saxonburg passed away Monday at the Saxony Health Center.

Born on Sept. 1, 1923, in Clinton Township, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Sarah (Oesterling) Watson.

Inez attended school in Cherry Valley and the Lardintown area. She helped out by doing housework for various families in the community when needed.

Inez was a member of the Pleasant Unity Church, where she was active in the women's circle and Mrs. Hess' Sunday School class. She was strong in her faith and faithful in church attendance, receiving a 30-year pin for perfect attendance. She and her husband, Melvin, also attended the Clinton United Presbyterian Church and the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She loved eating in restaurants, among their favorites was the Saxonburg Hotel. She also enjoyed talking and sharing memories with old and new friends and cooking.

Surviving are her loving husband, Melvin Hemphill, who she married on June 12, 1945, and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Hemphill— The friends of Inez L. Hemphill, who passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at theFox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
