Helen Puchnick

Helen Puchnick, 84, of Butler passed away Monday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1929, in Butler, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Ziminski) Kowal.

Helen was a member of the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, where she was very active in the Christian Mothers Group and the choir and where she helped with the fish fry.

She enjoyed going to bingo. Her family was her biggest joy.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sunnyview and VNA Hospice for their support and care for Helen.

Surviving are her husband, Louis Puchnick of Butler; her daughter, Karen Puchnick of Butler; her two sons, David (Jackie) Puchnick of Butler and William Puchnick of Arlington, Va.; her two grandsons, Matthew and Luke Puchnick of Butler; her sister, Katherine Fleming of Butler, and her beloved dog, Frankie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters and her five brothers.

Puchnick — Friends of Helen Puchnick, who died Monday, July 28, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
