Man injured as motorcycle, car collide
MIDDLESEX TWP — One man was injured when the motorcycle he was driving and a car collided.
The crash took place at 1:50 p.m. on Route 8 about a half-mile north of the county line.
Middlesex police officer Conrad Pfeifer said a 70-year-old man was traveling south on his motorcycle and collided with a northbound car driven by a woman who was attempting to turn into the BP gas station.
The motorcycle driver, who was not identified at the scene, was transported by ambulance to UPMC Passavant Cranberry.
The driver of the car also was not identified.
The two southbound lanes of Route 8 have been closed. Traffic heading south is being detoured on the center turning lane. Traffic is not backed up.
In addition to Middlesex police, Adams Township police and firefighters from Middlesex and Richland townships also responded to the crash.
