Police called about knife at junior high
A 14-year-old student at Butler Junior High School is facing misdemeanor charges following his first day of school.
City police responded to the school on East North Street about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on reports a student brought a knife into the building.
Police on arrival found the teenage boy did have a knife.
The teen, who police did not name, was charged with possession of a weapon on school property.
Wednesday was the first day of classes for the Butler School District.
