Craig Vaughan

MARS — Craig Vaughan is the new general manager of Mars Mineral, a maker of agitation pelletizing equipment and systems.

He is responsible for the company's business operations and for the development of new products and markets.

Before joining Mars Mineral, Vaughan had technical management positions with Spang & Co. and Calgon Corp., where he became the inventor of 20 U.S., European and Canadian patents for additives used in paper processing, water treatment, and skin and hair care. He also headed the materials division of the Penn State University Electro Optics Center near Freeport.

He has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. in chemistry from Duquesne University, and a B.S. in biochemistry from Princeton University.

Mars Mineral has a 45,000 square-foot production facility in Mars. It is a division of Woodward Inc.

The Butler Health System was named a winner of the 2014 Clinical Innovation and Technology Accelerator Award for innovation with BHS Total Care.The health system launched a new program for total joint replacement surgery patients in March 2013.The health system says it was the first hospital in the Pittsburgh area to use a new approach that blends online technology with in-clinic support.In September 2013, a similar program was introduced for bariatric patients.Butler implemented the TotalCare program designed by Wisconsin-based Wellbe.me to provide patients with multiple benefits including online education, family involvement, checklists and reminders.
