EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings right guard Brandon Fusco will need about four months to recover from his upcoming surgery for his torn pectoral muscle.

The Seneca Valley High School and Slippery Rock University graduate says he'll have the operation Monday with a specialist in New York. He was hurt while blocking last week in the game at New Orleans.

He says this is the first significant injury of his career and the first surgery of his life. Vladimir Ducasse will replace him in the starting lineup this Sunday against Atlanta.

SAN FRANCISCO — Nearly 10 hours later, the real fun began for San Francisco.The Giants secured a wild card when Milwaukee lost at Cincinnati on Thursday afternoon. Then they gave up a six-run lead in their own game against San Diego before rallying for a 9-8 victory over the Padres.Once the game was over, fireworks went off from the center-field scoreboard and Giants players gathered in the middle of the diamond to pull on playoff shirts and caps as the remaining part of the sellout crowd cheered.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The video of Ray Rice punching his fiancee inside a casino elevator was sent to NFL headquarters to the attention of league security chief Jeffrey Miller in April, a law enforcement official says.The NFL has repeatedly said no one with the league saw the violent images until TMZ Sports released the video earlier this month. Miller said Thursday through an NFL spokesman that he never received the video.

LANDOVER, Md. — The New York Giants caught 32 passes. Twenty-eight were thrown by Eli Manning, and four came from the arm of Kirk Cousins.Manning is starting to find his rhythm in new coordinator Ben McAdoo’s offense, while Cousins is sinking fast as the placeholder for Robert Griffin III.
