Pedestrian hit by car, flown to Pgh. hospital
BUTLER TWP — A pedestrian was hit by a car on or along the northbound lanes of Route 8, just south of the intersection with the Picklegate Bridge, at 1:35 p.m. today.
The person’s identity and injuries were not immediately available. Police said the injured person was a male.
The injured person was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital, from where a medical helicopter flew the person to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
The driver of the car involved in the incident was being questioned by police at the scene.
