End-of-show party just 1 of Art Center events

Multiple and varied events are taking place at the Associated Artists of Butler County Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

An end of the show party for Tom Sheehan will be held at 7 p.m. today. Sheehan has been displaying nearly 300 pieces in the one-man show “More Racing Thoughts.”

An underground band night will kick off “The Art of Horror 9” exhibit Friday in the Underground Gallery at The Art Center. Featuring horror-themed art, live music by area bands and a Halloween costume contest, the evening’s festivities will begin at 6 p.m. Cover is $5 at the door.

The third in a series of four walk-in art classes will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. No registration is required. Cost is $15 at the door. This class will be about watercolor and will be taught by Steve Harding, an artist and AABC member.

An exhibit of art representing the hardship and healing of those affected by domestic violence will open Oct. 22 and have an artist reception and candlelight vigil Oct. 24. The exhibit will then run through Nov. 1.

Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.
