Principal takes Polar Plunge
Richard Cavett, principal at South Butler Intermediate School, takes a “polar plunge” Friday into an ice water-filled pool. He did this because the 4th and 5th graders, a total of 344 students, raised more than $30,000 at the walk in September. That surpassed last year’s Laps for Learning record of $29,000. The PTO has used the funds to provide Promethean Boards in classrooms, new locker/cubbies for each class, assemblies, field trips, and other activities and school improvements.
