SRU women's soccer dominant in 6-0 win

Nicole Krueger and Tess Keeley both scored twice to lift the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team to a dominating 6-0 home win over Lock Haven on Saturday.

Also scoring for The Rock (9-3-1, 8-3-1) were Ali Brosky and Dara Demich.

Goalkeepers Annabelle Hegeman and Shannon Mahoney combined to stop all four shots from the Bald Eagles (2-11-1, 2-10-1).

Men's SoccerThe Rock received a pair of goals from Stephen Donnelly and one from Dom Francis in defeating Lock Haven (5-7-1, 4-3) by a score of 3-0.SRU goalkeeper Steven Rerick made six saves in the shutout, his second of the season.The Rock improved to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Allison Shade and Megan McKay scored a goal in SRU's 2-0 home triumph against Kutztown.Carlee DuMars had four saves for The Rock (7-6, 5-4). The Golden Bears fell to 6-6, 4-4.

SRU saw its four-game win streak snapped with a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Clarion (22-2, 14-1).Leah Jones tallied 16 digs and 12 kills while Kristy Lake had 12 digs and 12 kills.Karns City graduate Kristen Smith added 12 digs.The Rock, which lost by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-23, moved to 15-8 overall and 9-6 in PSAC-West play.

Grove City College fell behind early in the first quarter and never led in a 21-10 road loss at Carnegie Mellon.Ryan Stewart booted a 32-yard field goal for the Wolverines' only score of the first half.Gabe Greco connected with David Folkmire on a five-yard touchdown pass that closed the scoring midway through the final period.Karns City product Tyler Kepple completed all six of his pass attempts for 34 yards for Grove City (0-6, 0-4).Seneca Valley graduate Troy Witt scored a nine-yard touchdown on the ground for CMU (3-3, 3-3) in the third quarter.Grove Cuty travels to Thomas More this Saturday in search of its first victory.Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.
