A stranger's kindness
While shopping recently at a local grocery store, I realized while checking out I’d forgotten my wallet. I mentioned to the woman behind me that I was going to the service desk. There was nothing I could do.
As I was leaving, the woman who was behind me approached and offered to pay for the groceries ($22). I told her it wasn’t necessary. I could return tomorrow. But she insisted.
I wanted to get her name and address and send her a check. She refused, so I said I would pass her kind act on and donate to the Disabled American Veterans.
I don’t know her name but I do know what kind of a person she is.
