Cream vocalist Jack Bruce dies
LONDON — British musician Jack Bruce, lead vocalist and bass player for Cream, died Saturday at his home. He was 71.
Bruce was one of the top musicians of the late 1960s, when Cream played its psychedelic blues tunes to packed houses in England and the U.S. Cream — widely cited as the original supergroup — was known for hits such as “Sunshine of Your Love.”
In its heyday, Cream sold 35 million albums in just over two years and received the world's first platinum disc for “Wheels of Fire.”
