10:58 p.m. Wednesday — David Rickard, 27, of Saxonburg was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Whitestown Road.

Thursday — Russel Ferguson, 23, of Harrisville is facing charges of aggravated assault after he allegedly hit a woman in the face multiple times and pointed a loaded weapon at her.Police said the incident occurred at Ferguson's home along the 100-block of Barr Lane in Mercer Township.The woman, who police did not identify, suffered injuries to her neck, face and chest.Ferguson was arrested and taken to Butler County Prison.6:05 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Ronald W. McClymonds, 46, of New Castle struck a deer in the northbound lane of Interstate 79 in Worth Township.Sept. 27 — John M. Smith, 65, of Summit Township reported someone damaged a window of his home on Verndale Road with possibly a BB gun. Estimated value of the damage is $500.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Aug. 27 — Valerie Unger, 56, of West Sunbury reported someone entered her home along Joswiak Road and stole several pieces of jewelry over an extended period of time.

6:40 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Angela Allen, 46, of Sharon struck the back of a pickup truck driven by Brian Coursen, 23, of Mercer along Route 19 in Scott Township, Lawrence County.The accident occurred when Coursen slowed to turn into a driveway. The impact caused Coursen's vehicle to spin into a nearby yard.Both Allen and Coursen were taken to Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle.
