Beavers trip up Gremlins

Devin Clark caught a 9-yard pass from Gabe French early in the fourth quarter, putting DuBois Area ahead for good in a wild 35-31 football victory over Karns City Friday night.

It was the first loss of the season for the Gremlins (9-1), who led 31-21 following 18 straight points spanning the second and third quarters.

Logan Moroney's 25-yard field goal closed scoring in the first half before Caleb King (1 yard) and Tristan Rhoades (6) both had touchdown runs to begin the third period.

Rhoades finished the game with 155 yards and scored three touchdowns on just 12 carries. Collin Dunmyre added 105 yards on 10 carries for the Gremlins.

French threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 243 yards for the Beavers (8-2). His 28-yard scoring run late in the third period cut KC's lead to 31-28.

Cochranton 35, A-C Valley 0 — The Falcons closed their season at 0-10 with this road defeat.

Jacob Yarnell rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown for Cochranton (6-3). Seth Brenot added 86 yards rushing and a touchdown.

A-C Valley trailed only 7-0 at halftime, but surrendered three touchdowns in the third quarter, one of them on a lost fumble recovered by Cochranton's Blake Miller in the end zone.
