Girl Scout troops from the Trefoil Service Unit will raise money for needy Mars area residents Nov. 29 and 30 through Caroling for Mars.

Scouts will sing and collect donations at the Mars 7-Eleven from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. at the Mars Shop ’n Save Sunday.

Some troops will also carol through their neighborhoods collecting for the project.

“Caroling for Mars” is the scouts’ annual service project. In 2013, the girls raised more than $2,000 and purchased gifts for 14 needy children. Their families were also given a grocery gift card.

Project chairman is Girl Scout leader Kim Hall.
