Firefighters quickly put out fire in city
City firefighters this morning doused a blaze before it could spread throughout a Second Street duplex.
Butler Fire Chief Nick Ban said the fire started in the downstairs hallway. The fire was reported at 9:09 a.m.
None of the six people in the building at 222 and 224 2nd St. when the fire broke out were injured.
Ban estimated damages at $10,000. The tenants and the owner are insured.
Authorities are investigating the cause.
