Restaurant wants one to 'Savor' the flavor
BUFFALO TWP — The chef of a new restaurant coming to the South Pike Square strip mall off Route 356 wants customers to savor his fare.
Chef Mike Rogers of Economy, Beaver County, who also is the owner of Savor, said he wants eating at his restaurant to be an interactive experience.
Rogers said customers will be able to browse through cookbooks and give him suggestions on new specials.
“We want people to feel it's their kitchen,” Rogers said.
David Biernesser of West View, restaurant general manager, said Rogers will speak with patrons about their ideas.
“He'll be out talking to them,” Biernesser said.
Rogers intends to buy food from local farmers.
A Pittsburgh native, Rogers spent 25 years traveling across the country, learning how to prepare regional cuisines. Among the places he worked was the Radisson Resort in Phoenix, Ariz., and Sol Duc Hot Springs on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state.
Most recently, he was the executive chef and chief operations officer at Waterford Receptions in Virginia.
Biernesser said Buffalo was selected for Savor's location due to the availability of space in the mall.
To help create a unique dining experience, the restaurant will display photographs for sale.
