Karl Weisenstein

Karl D. Weisenstein, 84, of Butler passed away at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born on April 7, 1930, in Butler to the late Dan Weisenstein and Lottie Johnson Weisenstein.

Karl was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War.

He worked in the Combustion Department at Butler Armco Steel, retiring after 35 years of service.

Karl was a Protestant and was a deacon at the Calvary Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed taking his son, daughter and nephews out to learn the love of sportsmanship and nature. Karl especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Karl is survived by his wife, Helen V. Weisenstein, who he married on June 6, 1974; his daughter, Lori Eury and her husband, Kirk, of Butler; his grandson, Eric Deal of Butler; his granddaughter, Vanessa Desch and her husband, Owen, of Butler; his great-grandchild, Destiny Galore-Deal; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kurtis L. Weisenstein; his three sisters; and four brothers.

Weisenstein — The friends of Karl D. Weisenstein, who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, will be received from 1 p.m. to the time of services at 4 p.m. Saturday at theThompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Pastor Todd Wentworth of the First Baptist Church officiating.
