Rock falls to Gannon
The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team let a nine-point second-half lead slip away in a 74-71 loss to Gannon at Morrow Field House Wednesday night.
The Rock led 47-38 with 15:08 remaining, but was outscored 36-24 by the Golden Knights down the stretch, leading to SRU’s first home loss of the season.
Gannon now leads the PSAC West standings with a 12-3 record (13-7 overall).
Antonio Butler scored 23 points for The Rock (15-6, 10-5), which came down with just 28 rebounds in the game.
Frank Holloway added 20 points and Kelvin Goodwin 13.
Women’s Basketball
SRU was on the short end of a 40-15 halftime score and fell to Gannon 72-50.
D’Asia Chambers led The Rock (7-12, 3-12) with 13 points.
Gannon improved to 13-2 in conference play and 14-4 overall.
