Deward M. Johnson, 80, of Adrian passed away Wednesday at ACMH Hospital.

He was born March 8, 1934, in Rowan County, Ky, to Carmel and Bessie Mae Johnson, who preceded him in death.

He lived in the area for 64 years. He was a sawyer and truck driver for Bracken Construction. He served four years in the U.S. Army. He was a founding life member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsman's Club. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and pool shooter.

He is survived by his wife, Mickey Johnson; two daughters, Debbie and Tim Dunlap, and Kate Biechner; three sons, Deward Jr. and Susan Johnson, Bruce and Lori Johnson, and Gary and Kate Dittman; one stepson, Dan and Christina Mikulich; two brothers, Donald and Barbara Johnson, and Delmore and Erma Johnson; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

JOHNSON — Friends of Deward M. Johnson, who died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville, with additional viewing at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Donald Toy officiating.Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
