The Butler School Board Monday night:

Approved buying 125 Kindle Fire tablets to be distributed at the junior, intermediate and senior high school libraries as soon as next month. The cost is not to exceed $11,138. An e-book service for the tablets, Overdrive, also was bought for $8,000.

Approved carpet installation at the junior high school and tile installation at McQuistion Elementary at a cost of $155,377 and $25,865, respectively.

Met in executive session for more than an hour during the school board meeting with a number of people to discuss a personnel issue relating to the girls high school basketball team.
