Independents shut out
A local politician running for an office is seeking both party nominations by cross-filing in the spring primary election, yet voters who have chosen to register as independents are not allowed to vote for any candidate in the primary election. They are denied their right to cross-vote, or to vote at all.
This is not a national occurrence. Some states do not have this prohibitive voting rule. Pennsylvania does. Why?
For shame, Pennsylvania, one of the early states to fight for our political rights.
