Survey open to public

Input on county economy sought

The public is being asked to participate in an online survey regarding economic development in Butler County.

The survey is part of an effort to create a unified plan for economic development.

Participants are asked to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the county as well as to list actions and activities they think should be done to improve economic development here.

Ken Raybuck, executive director of the Butler County Community Development Corporation, said, “We obviously are trying to gather as much input as we can from anyone who lives, works or does business in Butler County.”

The survey, which takes about 10 minutes to complete, is at www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1989670/ButlerCountyEconomicDevelopment2015.

In addition to the online survey, the study, which is funded by Butler County Community College, also will include meetings with special interest groups.

The survey, which will be live until March 25, is being done by the Pittsburgh-based consultant Fourth Economy.

The CDC will promote the survey through its membership and the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, but Raybuck hopes that others will complete it as well.

He noted that the more people who fill out the survey, the better job Fourth Economy can do in making recommendations.

Fourth Economy is expected to make its recommendations by September.
