Cecilia H. Koban

Cecilia H. Koban, 89, a resident of Beaver Elder Care and Rehab Center, passed away Tuesday.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1925, in Zelienople to the late Ferdinand and Agnes Vasko Chvala.

She was a former member of the Harmony Township Homemakers, and she enjoyed baking and cooking.

Surviving are her two daughters, Judy (Frank) Telesz of Hopewell Township and Diana (David) Beley of Economy; her son, Mark (Kelly) Koban of Columbus, Ohio; her 10 grandchildren, Tim (Sherry) Telesz, Kimberly Telesz, Kevin Telesz, Jennifer Koban, Brenda (Norman) Faas, Celeste Beley, Angie (Matthew Seech) Koban, Heather (Tony) Fera, Samantha Koban, and Joseph Koban; her seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Airaglin, and Gage Telesz, Max Fera, and Adelyn and Carter Faas; her brother, James (JoAnn) Chvala of Prospect; her daughter-in-law, Lora Koban of Ambridge; her sisters-in-law, Betty and Dorothy Chvala, both of Zelienople, and her numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, William Koban; her son, Edward Koban; her infant daughter, Margaret, and her three brothers, Dominic, Fred and Joseph Chvala.

Koban— The friends of Cecilia H. Koban, who passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a blessing service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Vitas Healthcare or to the Alzheimer's disease Research Foundation.
